Welcome to Giselle Hilal Psychotherapy

If you've found your way here, welcome.

Starting therapy, or even considering it, can feel like a big step. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, reaching out for support often requires courage. My hope is that this space can serve as a source of information, reflection, and encouragement as you navigate your own journey.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I am passionate about helping adults better understand themselves and build lives that feel more authentic, sustainable, and fulfilling. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those who identify with or are exploring ADHD and autism.

Many of the clients I work with have spent years wondering why certain things seem more difficult for them than they appear to be for others. They may struggle with overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, perfectionism, masking, people-pleasing, executive functioning challenges, or a persistent feeling that they're somehow "doing life wrong."

The truth is that many of these struggles are not personal failures.

Often, they are understandable responses to living in environments that may not align with how we naturally think, process information, communicate, or regulate emotions. Therapy can provide a space to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and neurodivergent-affirming. I don't believe therapy is about fixing who you are. Instead, I see therapy as an opportunity to better understand yourself, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, develop practical coping strategies, and create a life that feels more aligned with your values and needs.

In this blog, I'll be sharing thoughts and resources related to:

  • ADHD and autism in adulthood

  • Burnout and chronic overwhelm

  • Self-esteem and self-acceptance

  • Emotional regulation

  • Relationships and boundaries

  • Identity exploration

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Practical coping tools and strategies

My goal is to create content that is both informative and accessible, whether you're currently in therapy, considering therapy, or simply looking to learn more about yourself.

Thank you for being here. I look forward to sharing this space with you.

Warmly,

Giselle Hilal, RP (Qualifying)
