About Me

Hi, I'm Giselle Hilal, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing virtual therapy to adults and children over the age of 13 across Ontario.

I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for support. Whether you're navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, ADHD, autism, relationship challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can be a place where you no longer have to carry everything on your own.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and neurodivergent-affirming. I believe therapy is about more than managing symptoms. It's about understanding your experiences, reconnecting with yourself, and creating a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and sustainable.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Biology and Psychology from Laurentian University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based approaches, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I also bring lived experience into the therapy room. I understand what it can feel like to navigate a world that isn't always built for the way your mind works. While your story is your own, I know how powerful it can be to work with someone who understands masking, burnout, sensory overwhelm, self-doubt, and the ongoing process of learning to embrace who you are.

I have a particular passion for working with trauma and the ways it continues to shape our lives long after the events themselves have passed. Trauma can affect our relationships, our nervous system, our sense of safety, and the way we see ourselves. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels safe, helping you understand the protective strategies your mind and body have developed while creating space for healing, self-compassion, and lasting change.

Above all, I strive to create a space where you don't have to perform, explain away your experiences, or pretend to be okay. My hope is that you'll feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are.

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're returning after previous experiences, I'm honoured you're here. If you think we might be a good fit, I'd love to meet you during a free 15-minute consultation.
